Need for VitD & something for the soul.

Farlon Rahaman ‘I am Woman!’
Finding this was gold as I don’t often see my sassis (aunties) framed. Part of a series capturing the ‘everyday woman’ around the streets of London. (Photo credit: Farlon Rahaman) Brady Arts & Community Centre.
Sarah Ainslie ‘Women Working in Food Banks’
Debbie and Alison work/volunteer at the Bow Food Bank. We know that food banks have become a lifeline as austerity continues to destroy families and communities. (Photo credit: Sarah Ainslie) Brady Arts and Community Centre.
Althea McNish ‘Colour is Mine’
Stumbled upon this as we crossed through to the park, great to see representation at the Morris, which is currently exhibiting the work of Althea McNish - a member of the Caribbean Art Movement (1966-72). The backdrop would have been South African Apartheid, the Black Power Movement as well as the politics of the newly independent English Caribbean. The exhibition covers two floors and includes Althea’s bold textile patterns as well as a recreation of her bacheloret showroom for the Ideal Home Exbition. (William Morris Gallery)
The Nunnery
Papered on the walls were a bibliography of every poem translated into English, we didn’t get a chance to note down the artist as the girl had a big stick, but it’s a great wee space to visit if you are about.
